Robert "Bob" L. Gobel graduated from Southern Illinois University with a Bachelors of Science in Accounting in 1969. From there Robert enlisted in the US Army and served until 1973 as a Financial Specialist. Robert returned to school and graduated from Sangamon State University with a Masters of Business Administration with an emphasis in Accounting in 1977. In 1980 passed the exam to receive his Certified Public Accountant title. In 1983 Robert purchased his own accounting firm, Gobel and Associates. In 1986 Robert returned to military life and joined the Navy Reserves where he stayed until 2007 and retired as a Senior Chief.
